The Otter Hotel
West Auckland, County Durham

Description

Under new ownership from 1st January 2006, the Otter is a popular, friendly, professionally-run hotel. Undergoing refurbishment but almost finished outside will be improved over the next few months Originally a 19th Century farmhouse, the building is in the process of being restored to a pleasant country hotel, with the reception fireplace still featuring the original brick-built bread oven. Close to the town, but standing alone in the countryside, the hotel is ideally located for those who want the comfort of home, as well as the convenience of town. Located on the main (A68) road, the tourist route to Scotland, we are perfect for holidaymakers and yet are only 5-10 minutes from the commercial sites of Bishop Auckland, Newton Aycliffe, Shildon, Darlington and Teeside, making the Otter Hotel the perfect choice for the business traveller also. Both are most welcome and can be sure of an excellent stay. In this professionally run hotel, quality is assured and a relaxed atmosphere is created by the owners and their staff. we offer both traditional and bistro style food in our newly refurbished restaurant food is now served all day
