One of ' Scotland's Hotels of Distinction' in the picturesque town of Haddington, just minutes from Edinburgh Maitlandfield, has the charm of an old country house together with the quality and efficiency of a modern hotel. This gracious two-storey mansion house was built in 1654 by the Earl of Wemyss and given to Colonel Maitland and his family shortly after being built. The house was converted into a hotel some 200 years later and today retains all the charm of an old country house together with the quality and efficiency of a modern hotel, that has been refurbished in September 2005. Enjoy Scottish cuisine, with a Portuguese twist that is supported by fine wines, a log fire and a choice of accommodation, from the comfortable to the deluxe rooms available. Please note that our hotel has a no smoking policy.
