Built in the 17th century, and undergoing the final stages of a GBP 1 million renovation, this hotel boasts a new 1920s themed bar and restaurant, and new boutique rooms. A hotel has stood on the site of The Kings Arms and Royal Hotel since 1358, and former guests include Henry VIII, whom ordered the former inn to be built in celebration of the arrival of the navy in Portsmouth. 15 brand new rooms are designed in a boutique style, and a brand new kitchen area offers traditional English fare from its newly constructed menus. A function room can accommodate a conference or party of 12 to 50 people.
